David Beckham has played football all his life, but for many he’s played soccer, and Frito-Lays got the legendary English midfielder to join Peyton Manning in a quest to decide if football is the correct name for American football or soccer in a funny commercial that was just recently released as part of the company’s Qatar 2022 World Cup advertisement campaign.
David Beckham and Peyton Manning play catch during a break
During a break from filming, Peyton Manning and David Beckham took the opportunity to play catch at the shooting location, with the former NFL quarterback asking Beckham if he’d had to teach him, but after the first throw Manning was convinced that the former soccer player could sling the rock around.
The two retired athletes were around 30 yards apart from each other and at one point Manning praised Beckham’s ability and said he was doing a good job.
“Good grip! I like the high release!”, he acknowledged.
Peyton Manning joked around with David Beckham
Peyton Manning caught a wobbly pass from Beckham but told him not worry about it because he used to also do it while playing in the NFL at a really high level.
When the ball was switched for a soccer one, Manning just simply said.
“I can’t do his sport.”
